Java 18 to Java 21 Tutorials
The releases from Java 18 to the Java 21 long-term support version changed how concurrent Java code is written, with virtual threads, and completed the pattern matching features which started in Java 16 - record patterns and pattern matching for switch. They also brought UTF-8 by default, a built-in web server, sequenced collections, generational ZGC and more. In this section you will find an overview of each release from Java 18 to Java 21, and a separate tutorial for each of its new features.
In case you are upgrading from Java 17, start with the Overview of New Features in Java 21, then read the virtual threads tutorial. For the releases before these, see the Java 12 to Java 17 Tutorials.
