Java 12 to Java 17 Tutorials
Between the long-term support releases Java 11 and Java 17, Java shipped a new version every six months, and these releases brought some of the biggest changes to the Java language since Java 8 - switch expressions, text blocks, records, pattern matching for instanceof and sealed classes - along with helpful NullPointerExceptions, low-pause garbage collectors, jpackage and much more. In this section you will find an overview of each release from Java 12 to Java 17, and a separate tutorial for each of its new features.
In case you are upgrading from Java 11, start with the Overview of New Features in Java 17, then read the tutorials on records and sealed classes. For the release before these, see the Java 11 Tutorials.
